Hunger is problem in Forsyth County because:

  • One out of every four children live in poverty.

  • Two out of every five residents are low-income.

  • One out of every two residents have to spend too high a percentage of their income on rent.

Food insecurity is when individuals or households cannot consistently afford sufficient food to feed themselves. Food insecurity is directly related to poverty and economic hardship.
