Why Orange?
Orange is the color for Hunger Action Month during September, and by extension, has become the symbolic color in the fight against hunger and food insecurity. Incorporating this eye-catching color into the name of the city’s campaign will further the goal of raising awareness of this issue within our community.


Winston-Salem ranks seventh on a national list of metropolitan statistical areas with the highest rate of food hardship.


Approximately 33,000 children enrolled in the local schools are eligible for free or reduced meals


During July 2018, 52,912 individuals in Forsyth County received some form of food or nutrition assistance
